I was fortunate to have Lynn Fredricks as my preceptor. The most rewarding experience here at FamilyCook Productions is seeing the CHEFS for Change program and Teen Battle Chef program being implemented during the instructor training. Being part of the team, I supported the chefs in food preparations, facilitated knife skills practices, and guided participants in different battles and act as a mentor in the Thai Fish Chowder Battle team. In addition, I instructed the recipe game concept (Mix n’ Match) using the 4 different variations of quesadilla recipe. I utilized her kitchen very often for lunches and recipe testings. I built upon my basic culinary skills and enhanced my ability in program development and social media. By the end of my rotation, I was able to draft a letter of intent for a grant FamilyCook was seeking. Overall, my performance is above average in most aspect of: punctuality, adaptability and flexibility. I work well in both individual and groups in many projects such as testing recipes and creating educational materials. My application in food and nutrition is versatile and impactful.
